It was the last day of our rather wet weekend in Keswick and we decided to take Bramble to go and explore Blea Tarn.
I have to credit my wife Hannah for first hearing about Blea Tarn. We follow quite a few Instagram Hashtags and Hannah kept seeing beautiful photographs of Blea Tarn. So we had to go and explore for ourselves and try and get some of our own pics! @Brambleinthepeak
Where is Blea Tarn?
I’ve added a little map below to show the location of Blea Tarn – it’s pretty much slap bang in the middle of the Lake District. We were staying just outside of Keswick so decided to visit Blea Tarn on our way home. After the obligatory stop at Grassmere to stock up on The Famous Gingerbread it was just a hop skip and a jump over to Blea Tarn.
Like many roads in the Lake District the road to Blea Tarn is a bit narrow in places but as long as you don’t meet too many cars coming the other way you will be fine!
The National Trust have a great little car park right next to the Tarn, I imagine when it gets busy this can become full quite quickly. But today there is only us and one other car. We are National Trust members so we get to park for FREE.
